The following is a list of open grant opportunities for NGOs and civil society organizations in developing countries from different agencies with a focus on development, economic empowerment, research and innovation.

1. IDB Civil Society for Innovative Solutions Program
Deadline: 27 July 2015
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB)’s “Civil Society for Innovative Solutions” program of the Vice Presidency for Countries (VPC); in partnership with the IDB Group’s Multilateral Investment Fund and the NEXSO platform, invite civil society organizations to present innovative solutions for that will reduce the number of people without legal identity and provide them access to services and fundamental rights.
The three winning organizations will receive support from the IDB’s Vice Presidency for Countries to present their solution to an audience of specialists during the IDB-Civil Society Regional Forum by the end of 2015. The winners will also enjoy visibility and promotion from the organizers and the NEXSO platform.

2. Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Prize for Women’s Contribution to Development
Deadline: 30 November 2015
The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) is calling nominations for its prize for women’s contribution to development. The Prize aims to recognize, encourage, inspire, and reward women’s participation in the socio-economic development process. The Theme for the Prize is “Women’s Contribution to Water Resources Management.”
The Prize consists of two cash awards;
• U.S. $ 50,000 for a woman or a group of women
• U.S. $ 100,000 for an organization

3. Global Innovation Fund GIF grants for development in developing world
Deadline: Ongoing
The Global Innovation Fund (GIF) is accepting applications for funding. GIF welcomes applicants to propose innovative, cost-effective solutions that address any major development challenge in any country (or in multiple countries) in the developing world.
GIF is nonprofit innovation fund headquartered in London. The Global Innovation Fund invests in social innovations that aim to improve the lives and opportunities of millions of people in the developing world.

4. AuthorAID small grants for 2015
Deadline: 29 July 2015
The AuthorAID small grants for 2015 seeks applications for different types of grants. Types of Grants:
1. 8 travel grants ($1500 each): For researchers who have an accepted abstract or proposal to present at a conference. Deadline to apply: 22 July 2015, 10 PM GMT.
2. 8 workshop grants ($2500 each): For experienced researchers or administrators who would like to organise a workshop on research writing or grant proposal writing. Deadline to apply: 29 July 2015, 10 PM GMT.
3. 2 online course grants ($1500 each): For experienced researchers with exposure to online training who would like to organise an online course on research writing or grant proposal writing. Deadline to apply: 29 July 2015, 10 PM GMT.

5. MMMF Education Grants for Latin America: Grants for Women Who Make a Difference
Deadline: 30 August 2015
The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund is calling applications for MMMF education grants program in Latin America for the academic year 2015/2016. The MMMF awards grants on a competitive basis to outstanding women in developing countries who have financial need and are dedicated to working for the empowerment of women and children in developing countries.

6. Open Government Partnership Call, Livelihood funding & other grants
Deadline: 5 August 2015
The Open Government Partnership Support Unit is inviting proposals on research on the commitments made by participating countries in their National Action Plans.
OGP is a multilateral initiative that aims to secure concrete commitments from government to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
OGP’s vision is that more governments become sustainably more transparent, more accountable, and more responsive to their own citizens, with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of governance, as well as the quality of services that citizens receive.
Thematic Areas
• Maintain high-level political leadership and commitment to OGP within participating countries
• Support domestic reformers with technical expertise and inspiration
• Foster more engagement in OGP by a diverse group of citizens and civil society organizations
