The Women’s Peace & Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) has launched a call for proposals in Ethiopia to support civil society organizations working on peacebuilding, recovery, humanitarian response, protection, and institutional strengthening for local women’s and young women’s rights organizations.
The call focuses on enhancing access of women and girls to local, inclusive, gender-responsive and life-saving humanitarian response and services in conflict and crisis settings, enhancing the protection of women and girls and the upholding of their rights in crisis and conflict settings, and reinforcing the institutional capacity of women’s rights and women-led organizations working on the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda in Ethiopia.
WPHF is inviting qualifying local organizations in Ethiopia to apply under two funding streams. Programmatic funding ranges from US$30,000 to US$200,000 and is intended to finance programmatic activities by civil society organizations. These activities should support better access for women and girls to humanitarian services and responses that are inclusive, local, gender-responsive, and life-saving, while also promoting protection and rights in conflict and crisis contexts.
Eligible applicants include national, regional, and local or grassroots women-led, young women-led, women’s rights, youth rights, feminist, and civil society organizations that have proven experience working with women, young women, and girls. Organizations led by women facing multiple and intersecting forms of discrimination, including displaced persons, people living with HIV/AIDS, persons with disabilities, and ethnic minorities, are encouraged to apply.
