The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) invites qualified regional organizations to partner in advancing feminist, rights-based advocacy and social norms change to prevent and respond to gender-based violence across East and Southern Africa.
The focus areas of this opportunity include health with emphasis on adolescent health, including sexual and reproductive health, and sexual and reproductive health; protection with a focus on gender-based violence; and social policy and advocacy, including policy advocacy and general social policy and advocacy. The initiative prioritizes strengthening feminist, rights-based advocacy, social norms change, mobilization interventions to prevent and respond to gender-based violence and harmful practices, regional leadership of women-led and youth-led organizations, advocacy and policy engagement at multiple levels, monitoring of regional and national commitments including the AU Accountability Framework, documentation of resistance and backlash, risk-informed advocacy and activist protection strategies, and improved knowledge and application of the Essential Services Package for GBV prevention and response
