The Global Environment Facility’s Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP), implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), invites eligible organizations in Zambia to apply for funding to address critical environmental challenges in their communities.
The focus areas, objectives, priorities and themes for this opportunity include Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Change, Land Degradation, International Waters, and Chemicals and Waste; Empower local CBOs and CSOs to lead community-driven solutions enhancing well-being and resilience; Promote innovative approaches and partnerships to improve ecosystem services and livelihoods; Utilize inclusive practices, prioritizing women, youth, and persons with disabilities; Ecosystem Conservation and Management; Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security; Chemicals and Waste Management; Chambeshi, Luapula, Luangwa, Kafue, Tanganyika, and Zambezi; Be a locally registered NGO, CBO, CSO, foundation, academic institution, or similar entity; Private Sector entities are not eligible; Have experience in implementing initiatives of similar scope and nature; Be capable of preparing both narrative and financial reports; Be willing to provide a matching contribution. Grant Amounts of up to USD 50,000.
