Cartier Women's Initiative Awards: Inviting Women Entrepreneurs Worldwide

The Cartier Women's Initiative Awards are designed for women entrpreneurs worldwide in the initial stages of development. The awards aim to encourage the most vulnerable category of entrepreneurs in their most vulnerable phase: women entrepreneurs starting up.
These Awards are an international business plan competition created in 2006 by Cartier, the Women's Forum, McKinsey & Company and INSEAD business school to identify, support and encourage projects by women entrepreneurs.

AGFUND International Prize for Pioneering Human Development Projects

The AGFUND International Prize for Pioneering Human Development Projects was established in 1999 by the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), with the aim of inciting and encouraging innovation and creativity in the areas of human development. In this sense, AGFUND Prize is considered to be the first initiative of its kind to identify successful development projects, reward them and disseminate their innovative ideas to best contribute to the improvement of development work.

The Right Livelihood Award recognizes that, in striving to meet the human challenges of today's world, the most inspiring and remarkable work often defies any standard classification. The Award is not an award for the world's political, scientific or economic elite, but an award for the people and their work and struggles for a better future. The Laureates come from all walks of life: they are farmers, teachers, doctors, or simply, concerned citizens.
World Bank Civil Society Fund

The Social Development Civil Society Fund (CSF) is of the most important program that directly support activities of civil society organizations (CSOs).
These grants support groups who often are excluded from the public arena by increasing their capacity to influence policy and decision-making. They offer opportunities to reach populations that would otherwise not have access to resources.
Most grants are in the range of $3,000 to $7,000 with a maximum of $15,000.
The Lasallian Foundation Grants for Most Disadvantaged and Marginalised Communities

The Lasallian Foundation works closely with their in-country Lasallian Partner Organisations (LPOs) and the local grassroots communities to assess and understand local needs and to create appropriate, sustainable solutions to meet these needs. It focuses on programs and projects that improve basic necessities (clean water, sanitation, hygiene, health and nutrition, education and skills training) as well as wider initiatives that will help the whole of community to lift themselves out of the poverty cycle.
Eligible Countries: Papua New Guinea, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia.
There are no pre-set limits for grant applications. Past grants have ranged from A$1,500 to A$200,000.
Mama Cash

The Mama Cash was the first international women’s fund in the world and is still alive and kicking. Mama Cash was conceived around a kitchen table in Amsterdam in 1983. Since then, it has grown from a group of five feminist activists into an international fund that supports women’s, girls’ and trans people’s movements around the world.
Each year, Mama Cash supports about 100 courageous groups, organizations, networks and women’s funds that are led by women, girls and trans people. Grantees include groups, organisations, networks and other women’s funds. They are led by and work for sexual and ethnic minorities, adolescent girls, trans people, indigenous women, low-income women, single mothers, women with disabilities, migrant women, sex workers, rural women and women workers in both formal and informal sectors.
Applicants must first send LOIs available on the website. The letter of Interest form is available in six languages: English, Spanish, French, Russian, Portuguese, and Dutch.
Comic Relief

The Comic Relief International Grants for 2016 are opening soon. The Comic Relief funds organizations working among the disadvantaged population through its three types of funding approaches. The projects that are based on one of the five thematic areas – better futures, healthier finances, safer lives, stronger communities, and fairer societies – are considered for funding.

Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund (VGIF)

Grant applications will open in June 2016
Virginia Gildersleeve International Fund (VGIF) provides small grants up to $7,500 USD to grassroots projects that are led by women and that help empower women and girls, in developing countries around the world. Over the years, VGIF has funded over 475 projects in 89 countries addressing specific challenges faced by women and girls.
VGIF small grants are for one year. A limited number of grants are available for multi-year projects. VGIF may invite successful one year grantees to submit a proposal for a three-year grant. The budget amount requested from VGIF must not exceed $7,500 USD.
