A Short Guide on How to Conduct Successful Donor Meetings
One of the most important yet the most neglected activities of your fundraising effort is scheduling a personal meeting or visit to the donor. Many times organizations totally miss on setting up personal meetings and instead rely on organizing group events (fundraising events, lunch, conferences, bulk emails, tours, etc.) to cultivate donors. This, however, is not a healthy practice. Just like any relation needs a personal touch and time to grow, you also need to invest time in meeting donors for developing a cordial work relationship with them. The guide has been divided into three sections that will show you how to: plan and conduct a successful meeting, and how to convince donors to support your cause.

As part of our work to monitor implementation of the SDGs, we have been on the lookout for the update/release of donor development policy frameworks.
We would also like to share the New European Consensus on Development "Our World, Our Dignity, Our Future". Though it was released in late 2016, it seems that it has only recently been released in English.
This policy recognizes that supporting gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls is the best way to build a more peaceful, inclusive and prosperous world. To do this, it supports targeted investments, partnerships, innovation and advocacy efforts with the greatest potential to close gender gaps and improve everyone’s chance for success. But it also works across other six action areas that reflect the multidimensional nature of poverty, in support of the Sustainable Development Goals:
1. Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls
2. Human Dignity
3. Growth that works for everyone
4. Environment and climate action
5. Inclusive governance
6. Peace and security
